My TV is Always with Me

I always hated that I wouldn’t be able to watch my favorite television shows while I was away from home. Many companies had on demand services where you could watch content, but it wasn’t the same as watching it live. Also, the content that was on these services wasn’t always up to date with what was being aired at the time. I wanted a way to relay a stream of content from my television to my phone, and to allow me to change the channel from my phone. To do this, I asked a mobile app development team to create an app for me.

The team came up with some plans for how the app would work with me. The box on my television would be connected to my home’s Internet connection or to my computer, and then would access an app that would send the stream to my phone through a server. From there, I would be able to see what was on my screen at home over my phone. To change the channel, I needed an additional piece of hardware hooked up to the box to affect the IR signals that are used by the remote control.

After some testing and fine tuning, everything was up and running. I did some stress tests of going to various locations to see how well the app would work. I even went to another country to see if I could stream to my phone and if the picture would come in clear with no buffering or lag. The test was successful and everything was clear. The app was finally released, and an IR connector was sold to go with it so people could change the channel. People loved that they could watch anything they wanted, no matter where they were on the planet.
